Hi all, hope you're all well!, It's been a while since I've posted here so I thought I'd take the time to bring you up to speed on what's been happening and what my plans are for projects going forward.
As many will know from my last post, for the past few months I've been developing live techniques via my EDM side project CROSSWATCHER. This has resulted in a 70 min album being produced "Twisting Concepts of Reason" containing a mixture of original tracks and live versions. An initial release has been watched extensively on YOUTUBE and was a lot of fun to do.
The album was also featured on BBC “Introducing”
Produced exclusively on a dated 2012 MacBook Pro, this project was informative in many ways, and served to explore both the possibilities and the inherent limitations of composing in such a portable and minimalistic way.
Moving Forward
It's been a pretty busy few years for me and it's hard to believe that I've produced 10 albums in the last 3 and a half years as well as focussing on video content, artwork, research, websites and social media!. It's a fair bit of work when you do it all yourself!. I'm now taking a little time and mulling over ideas and allowing concepts to percolate for my next soundtrack project that I'll be embarking on very soon so watch this space.
I'm probably going to be scaling down social media to just my websites and YOUTUBE for the most part and not focussing on Twitter or Instagram. Frankly I don't like the ethics or platforms much and so will likely be closing the accounts soon as I already have regarding my Facebook presence.. as most will know, I'm just not a fan of social media. I am also contemplating dropping all streaming services for much the same reason as they are just not supportive of smaller artists who don't have massive amounts of traffic. I will likely keep download outlets under review but will focus most streaming activity to a single platform as much as possible.
