Rus Turner

Rus Turner is an English Musician and Composer who produces music drawing from multiple genres including Orchestral, Classical, Electronic, Jazz, Ambient/Minimal as well as Rock influences.

His music is Immersive and often Cinematic in nature, lending itself to visual imagery, often visiting multiple genres within a typical album project. From introspective solo piano pieces, to orchestral compositions often employing both simple and more complex time signatures.

All of his music is solo produced, although primarily a guitarist, he also plays several other instruments as well as employing a substantial bag of tips and tricks attained during a career in audio production.

His methodology often involves writing “on location”. He’ll sit at various locations using a laptop and a small midi keyboard to sketch musical ideas organically based on his senses, adding further work in his studio later. His approach is rarely pre-meditated in a classically compositional sense and much of his work is recorded spontaneously through “channeling” and directly inspired by the places and in the moment where they are conceived.

This unique approach in turn highlights an ability to switch genres, that contributes enormously to both the distinct variety in style, and the significant diversity of his work to date.
